Top batter of the day – Byron Buxton $6100
If he’s healthy he is among the best in the game. The matchup against E-Rod isn’t the best and the Twins haven’t been a high powered offense, but they have performed better at home than on the road so far this season. Buxton is also very much a power and speed threat so all it takes for him is one single and he could rip off a steal and a run and then BAM; he’s hit value. Batting leadoff also gives him the opportunity for extra at bats which is super important in daily contests.
Top pitcher of the day – Carlos Rodon $10100
This was an easy one today. Rodon has been phenomenal so far this year with 29 strikeouts in only 17 innings while giving up only two runs. Yes, that is correct he currently has an ERA of 1.06. The matchup against Oakland is as good as it gets as are in a bit of a tail spin with only 3 runs in their last 3 games. I like Rodon is every format today as he feels way too cheap not to play. Expect high ownership on him and watch the points stack up.
Value play of the day – Cody Bellinger $3200
I’m going right back to him. He let me down last night, but the matchup today is much better as Davies struggles to strike batters out. Eliminating Bellinger’s biggest flaw right now can only mean good things, right? He is also stealing bases again this year which is nice so he is like a discount version of those heavy hitters. I’ll have a ton of LAD exposure and Bellinger will be in most of them.
Dinger of the day – Shohei Ohtani
